Our family-owned vineyard of Chardonnay grapes and orchard of Italian blend olives sit nestled on 40 acres near the top of Sonoma Mountain in an area known for superb growing conditions and fine vintages. The property looks out across neighboring vineyards with exquisite views of the scenic and historic Valley of the Moon in Glen Ellen, California.
The high elevation of our vineyard – just above the fog line – offers plenty of sunshine but relatively cool temperatures, excellent conditions for Chardonnay. The soil is clay and rocky, providing ideal growing conditions and lending a delightful mineral flavor to the fruit. Master viticulturist Ulises Valdez manages the vineyard, which has been in production for over 15 years. Grapes are harvested by hand and whole-cluster pressed. Our Chardonnay grapes supply a number of well known Sonoma, Napa and New York wineries. In addition, we offer a limited production of our own Scopus Wines.
Our young orchard of Frantoio, Leccino, and Pedolino olives yields high-grade Italian blend olives, hand-picked and harvested in the fall and cold pressed immediately. The blend produces a robust fresh artisanal extra virgin olive oil.
We are one hour north of San Francisco, a 10-minute drive to the quaint gourmet town of Glen Ellen and former home of California writer Jack London; a 20-minute drive to the historic Sonoma town-square and Mission, 20 minutes to old Santa Rosa, and close to numerous hiking and biking routes.
